You're right, shorts take SO long to make and it's really difficult to get any kind of sustainable income in that regard. We've pitched our scripts for shorts to a number of big name studios and, while they are always excited about the story, they always say the same thing: 'there's just nothing in our budget for shorts'. As a result of this, we're writing our first feature script and will slowly work through our short scripts on our own time. Best of luck to you on yours, I can't wait to see the latest short from you when it is complete!

What should I do to present an idea to a studio (such as cartoon network or Disney), for an animated TV show or movie?
Do I have to present to the studio a description of the idea and characters? Or the entire script of the movie (or pilot of the TV show)? And do I have to include reference sheets of the characters too?

I'm a freshman in community college my major is visual arts. I planned to go to a college for animation but my parents made me go to community college to save money.
