  • I'm so sorry for all the elderly in such places.Lord Jesus please protect the innocent and those in need, the babies, the children and the precious elderly. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  • So much happened to my mom in the home, in the end my mom was broken and dead so many times we ask for help it never came lies after lies and my old mommy will never come back, and this just happened one year and half ago.

  • New York City is desperately in need of a ratio law these CEO for these nursing homes are just filling up thier pockets with money and not hiring enough people to take care of the vulnerable elderly people, they need to start hold them accountable too whenever there is a incident in their place

  • The problem is people are becoming materialistic, you want your wife to work, so that you can afford a big house, luxury car, and you can afford every luxurious thing, you want luxurious vacation, and so on. You take loan from govt. to finance your school, and you work too hard to pay the loan, you ask for loan to start a business or buy a house, and you work too hard to pay off. And in this bad time if your parent gets old and plan to retire then they become burden instead of blessing, you're making the best opportunity from God to take care of your elderly parent a burden.

Due to all these financial pressure you have to work and so does your wife and you can't take care of your parents and you put them on these worst scenario. You might get the success but you'll never see what you lose for getting this temporary success. If you didn't take all these financial burden then you need not have to send your wife to work, and she could've take care of your parents properly. The best wife will never ask something from you that you can't afford.

  • I worked in a nursing home for 35 years and I was in house keeping 30 years so . Part of the problem was they didn't have enough staff and most of them were only there for a pay check that is so bad we need to somehow find good people which is unheard of . They were so short they didn't have time to take residents to the bathroom state the ones that come and check to see if there any fines to get well when the state would come then the nursing home would make sure they had enough staff . It needs to be that way all the time when you don't have enough staff that's when accidents happen the nursing home would not fire nurses aid for for abuse stealing thr residents personal items ( I feel they should put cameras through the home to maybe catch in the act . I heard of stealing from residents I had to speak out when I worked there as a housekeeper I was told I clean to good so you were susposed to do a hit and miss which was a joke and the ones who didn't do there job at all they never got into trouble . I was always getting written up sad but true my boss said he couldn't fire me and the housekeeper told him she would find someone to fire me and but true it was a good thing I retired when i did or i I would of been fired they kept the ones who didn't do there job in housekeeping and . Who know what else happened in the nursing home the aids ever had much time to spend time with the residents

  • I was so HEARTBROKEN watching this vid.😢 SHAME ON THOSE "CAREGIVERS"!😱 our elderly people deserve to be TREASURED and LOVED and RESPECTED! They took care of us, now we are to return that gift! LOVE IS THE KEY!!💖

  • Be very Careful with these places.Even the managers of these facilities hide what really goes on behind close doors to protect themselves. I could tell you a horror story of one here in Ontario, that takes care not of elderly but mental patients, and hid the abuse for there reputation. So sad for elderly and mental patients that can't protect themselves. These people that have done these horrific acts of cruelty and the ones that hide what they have done will all one day pay for there actions!

  • My grandmother was left outside 34 mins at least in -45 weather. She was then sick and quarantined for a week and no one has access to her because their on lockdown. Maybe if they would not of left her outside she would not of gotten sick. .the biggest problem is.. No private organizations are regulated in ontario and this is not fair to our province giving these workers who work for any.. Private organizations who work with vulnerable elderly and vulnerable children especially. The fact that no private organization has the egulations in place is a big problem. I have had my life torn apart and my families because of the fact that there is no accountability. Ontario needs to do something

  • most patients i see coming into nursing homes are psch patients but the family lies and say there family are well behaved. They put them with elderly patients with dementia. frail patients get hit.staff get hit.we are told to use gentle approach.

  • It does, indeed happen! it happened to my father..a broken wrist..he was wheelchair/bed ridden all day..he was a jolly fellow until the incident happened.. who swore about pain (on bath days) in a Christian private and subsidized by Ontario Gov't ..Ottawa, francophone (French) facility ..on same day of we noticed his swell up, blue injury, we communicated with The Directors of Facility and Patient Care..with our ER hospital documented files we met early the very next day! ..during our meeting we put it back on them (the Directors), to do something about this problem, within 48hrs, to our satisfaction or we would go public..before the deadline they organized a Safety Board Committee Organization (we approved of) with elderly patient care experience.. duly aware/informed on topic..mandatory for all staff to attend ..explaining our complaint and informing them we would be installing a security camera in PaPa's bedroom…yes City of Ottawa has rules & regulations..but if mistreatment is not reported or are misinformed then who is responsible?? ..we had them employ another agency of our choice to monitor "each" staff's (400 people) attendance …regardless of their position within the facilitaty as well as volunteers..we were satisfied with this..they also wrote us an apology letter, signed by each staff on his floor…we hired a retired nurse to be by his side each afternoon as both my brother and I worked full-time..NB…Always question your parents/loved one's about the care they receive..ask them if they fear someone..where they feel pain and examine them..be "alert"…please!! at all times..moi, Canada 🇨🇦

  • I'M SEEING A VERY SCAREY DEVELOPMENT WHERE THE STAFF IN THESE PLACES ARE BECOMING MENTALLY UNHEALTHY AND THERE NEEDS TO BE COUNCELORS AVAILABLE TO THE STAFF!?! THIS MAKES ME SICK!!! THERE'S NO REASON FOR THERE NOT TO BE ENOUGH HELP TO GIVE EXCELLENT CARE AND SERVICE BECAUSE MOST OF THESE PLACES ACTUALLY DO GET ENOUGH MONEY… IT'S JUST THAT WE HAVE ADMINISTRATORS STEALING MONEY AND SAYING THEY AREN'T GETTING ENOUGH MONEY FOR MORE STAFF AND HELP!!?? THIS IS OUT RIGHT CRIMINAL IN EVERY WAY AND I FEEL EVERY ONE OF THESE PLACES SHOULD BE AUDITED THOROUGHLY… EVERY ONE!!! IN FACT, I'M GOING TO GET THE BALL ROLLING ON SOME THINGS AND I'M GOING TO FIND OUT WHO CONTROLS THE FINANCING FOR THESE RACKETS!!! FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!

  • YES I'M THINKING THAT THE CAREGIVERS ARE HAVING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND WE NEED TO START AN OPEN DIALOG AND KEEP IT GOING… THEY NEED OUR HELP AND SUPPORT!!!
HOPEFULLY SOME GOOD FOLKS WILL HEAR MY CRY AND START THE CONVERSATION BY ASKING THE CAREGIVERS THEY KNOW… SOME COMPASSIONATE QUESTIONS!!! WE DO CARE!!!

  • This is true their was a CNT that was physically abusing my mother and she showed us all the bruises all over her.Nothing was done so we staid with her 24/7.She dropped and killed one of the patients eventually and was fired.

  • I worked at a gas station 3rd shift and the employees of a home would come in and stay hours playing poker machines, laughing and cutting up.Those poor patients were alone all night.

  • I remember in 2005 I worked as a nursing aide and it was 3 aides for 49 residents on a evening shift, that day I worked a 16 hr shift and I was only getting paid 8.50 an hr. Some of the residents where up all day in there chairs for 13 hrs straight. These nursing homes are hell for the patients and he’ll for the staff because there is never enough staff. The people they hire for these positions are kids fresh out of high school, drug addicts, and theives and crooks. The administrator was steal the residents rent money, and this is why these nursing homes don’t hire descent help.

  • When members of my family were put into hospital or palliative care we took turns taking care of them during the day as to help out and be sure our family member gets the best care. When we could no longer give care on a daily basis we hired a private nurse to come in daily.
Having a private nurse to come into hospital ensures the level of care is up to standard. the staff are grateful to have the help as they are over burdened with high needs seniors with very little support from family members.
Our need to have cheep nursing homes has led to fewer staff members with longer work week and burned out staff. You get what you pay for. If we are living longer than we must provide for those years. It might be cheaper to add on the extra space to accommodate the nurse and aging parent than to provide 20-30 years of care in a nursing home. The quality of life at home would be far richer than being stuck in some home for the nearly dead….

  • Alot of people dont have the luxury to keep them at home and get care. Its a known thing in my city every psw will tell you the same thing under staffed . theres 7+ homes in my city

  • and with some of these local city hospitals" the staff or doctors are starting to either tell lies on your medical record to either discredit you or to mix up some medical issue,

  • a continuance of what I just said is to say that with behavior like this, it seems like sooner or later there will be a setup or some advanced state of abuse LIKE THE NURSING HOME PROBLEMS

  • I worked as a CNA and honestly you have to have a good heart to do it. The pay is literally minimum wage luckily i was paid 14/hr in Cali but it is stressful and can take a toll on your mind. Elders abused me all the time hitting me and pinching me screaming names and vulgarities but i would pray in my head do my job and then go cry in the bathroom. I had to quit. It was taking a toll on my health

  • They started suing them years ago and that helped but DAs in all 50 states are going to have to put more RNs etc. in the clink and that will stop lots of this. Also they should be made to have grads all the time stopping wrong doing of anyone

  • Caregivers are good people. However the nature of their job is very stressful and laborious. Caregivers take care of 13 to 15 patients per shift. How do you cope such job kindly if the patient does not cooperate in what the Caregivers are assigned to do? They are under pressure to meet
the demand of each patients. On top of all, Nursing Caregivers are underpaid and some has no benefits. Where's fairness in this issue? My suggestion to relatives, take care of your love ones at home, hire a personal private Caregiver and stop whining about the quality of care. Period.

  • If they haven't already, they will get a law passed prosecuting those that obtain hidden footage from doing so and making it a criminal offence. (just like they did to those that obtained proof the animals grown for food were mistreated and abused)

  • I’m a Home Health Aide myself and it’s very hard to see what some of these elderly people are going through especially those that cannot remember or talk it’s scary , some of these aides don’t even feed their clients and also do not wash them properly especially those without families we all gonna get there that’s one thing we need to know .

  • I suggest every one CNA should have one HHA to work with because in nursing homes or the hospitals you take care of at least five people you have to wash each one of them and feed them and it’s not easy at the end of The they got tired and take their frustrations on their clients I use to help whenever I visit a client at a hospital.

  • I only have one mother she staying with me until she dies and go home with the dear Lord. My dad passed but he spent a lot of time in the hospital he didn't like it. I recalled no abuse to him.

  • I used to worked as CNA long time ago and yes! You got that right, I changed my career past….

We are ALWAYS short staff and so MUCH jobs to do in 8 hours—mentally and physically….

I love talking to patients ,but NO one has a time to even do that. So much work to do and we only have 8 hours to do that….

It's a tragedy to have this problems and It never change until now…..😢

  • What a bloody shame and disgrace that you give your life to end up like this lord above help us. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 These people don't think that they will get ole. But karma comes round do good to others.❤❤❤😭😭😭

  • What is this when you are told that you cannot bring a camera in the nursing home or when you complain about the treatment of an elderly patient you are told to just take them home if you do not like what is going on with them. There is no home to take them to when you have given it to the nursing home. The time is changed when you can or can not see the elderly patient. When you brought the patient there exactly 9 months ago and they were walking and talking in their right mind and now they are no longer talking and making sense or no longer walking. Who do you talk to because the people who are in charge are like `your mother is not the only patient here?

  • I work at a nursing home in the United States and it’s insane how the facility is run.. I don’t see how these things aren’t regulated. How are things like this still going on? When is enough enough?

  • The thing is why this people decided to work in the nursing home if they don't have enough patient to take care of elderly people. They should know what to expect when the take this kind of job. I feel so bad with this elderly being abused by this kind of workers.
